"It" List

Perfect Vintage Levi's

Kim Kardashian cc: gettyimages      Our "It" List for S/S 17 includes the perfect distressed vintage Levi. We all love this look but, it can't be found on the racks of Bloomingdales. Nope, that's too easy. This look takes a lot more work and money. Leave it to Kim K to send us on a haute hunt. The first thought we all have is "Vintage" can be found in Army & Navy Stores, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. You're right however, that is only the beginning. 4 Steps to the "It" Levi look 1. Choose the correct wash, you want to be sure the wash is not too dark or have any trendy overlays like acid wash or textures- that can make your effortless style look to busy. 2. Fit (Mom Jean, Boy Friend Jean, Boot Cut, Relaxed, Skinny)  Just know the fit will not be perfect initially but, as long as it highlights your ASSets you are on the right track. 3. Tailoring I believe in tailoring for a perfect fit. Find an amazing seamstress to let out and take in- to get the silhouette that you want, the one that gives you that figure 8. 4. Distressing I personally can distress denim myself. It's a bit of a process and technique which involves a cheese grater, bleach and a sense of style. The process is different for everyone and some can be found by googling. The only thing left is to style them and show them off. Good Luck!
